Term lengths vary, and openings can come up throughout the year. Note: Most boards or commissions meet on weeknights, usually once a month or less, and availability for these meetings is important. The Board of Appeals hears appeals to the decisions of the Building Inspector and renders its decisions by applying Wisconsin laws and the City of South Milwaukee Municipal Code.
The South Milwaukee Board of Health is a voluntary board comprised of South Milwaukee citizens, the Public Health Administrator, Medical Advisor, and a liaison from the Common Council.
The Board of Review system was established by the Wisconsin Statutes to give taxpayers a method of appealing their property assessments.
The Housing Authority was created to manage Parkcrest Housing and engage in other Housing Authority activities as the Common Council shall from time-to-time direct.
