Bucyrus Commons Outdoor Space

Our new outdoor event space is located in the heart of our Downtown, the place to be for small and large community events.  The open air pavilion, a concession stand, and an amphitheater offers amenities for all. The space is also available for private events. 

Bucyrus Museum

The Bucyrus Museum celebrates the origins of the Bucyrus Company and arrival in South Milwaukee in 1893. Bucyrus quickly became the largest mining machinery supplier in the world, serving the community for over 118 years.  Stop in and learn about this rich history, located at 1919 12th Avenue in the historical Bucyrus Club building and grab a bite to eat at the Skyline Catering bar and deli.

Da Crusher Statue

Reggie "Da Crusher" Lisowski wrestled professionally at the highest level for over 40 years, known worldwide as "The Man That Made Milwaukee Famous". He was a proud lifelong resident of South Milwaukee. The  community erected a  life-size statue in his honor that has become thee spot for pictures. Stop by at 1101 Milwaukee Avenue in the heart of the Downtown to meet the legend and be sure to check out the annual "Crusherfest" event schedule.

Grant Park & Beach

This signature  county park offers 381 acres of fun. Home to Seven Bridges trail,  the regional Oak Leaf Trail, an 18-hole golf course, a thriving beach and summer grille, playgrounds, picnic shelters, tennis courts and much more to explore and get lost in. Grant Park Map

Downtown South Milwaukee

South Milwaukee's Downtown is experiencing continued growth and investment, having something for everyone. With over 100 businesses, you'll find great choices for food, drinks, retail, history and or just relaxing along the Avenue.  Take advantage of the various parklets and outdoor patios sprinkled throughout the Downtown while the warm weather lasts.  

       Spend a Day Shopping Start your day with a coffee at Avenue Coffeehouse, shop at Dupree's and Hollyville vintage shops and Immortal Toys & Collectables, have lunch at the Bucyrus Club/Skyline Catering Deli or Atwood Hwy BBQ, and end your afternoon with happy hour at Moran's Pub or The Tap Room Bar & Grill. 

       Spend a Day Immersing in Culture & History  Visit the Bucyrus Museum and Military Connections, sneak in some last minute gift shopping at Mari's floral and gift boutique or Board Game Barrister, grab dinner at Barbiere's Italian restaurant or Azteca Mexican restaurant, and finish with a show at South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center.

Downtown Market

South Milwaukee's Downtown Market is a farmers market and so much more! Count on good food, vendors and music every Thursday 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. from June to October, located Downtown at the Bucyrus Commons space.  

Golf

Located in Milwaukee County Grant Park,  the historic 18-hole golf course opened in 1920, good for beginners to experienced.  Step back in time as you enter the clubhouse and restaurant set in an old 1892 farmhouse. 

Oak Creek Parkway & Mill Pond

The Oak Creek Parkway is an urban park that winds through the community, a true environmental corridor! We invite you to meander along the creek, skip some stones, search for crawdaddy's or go fishing at Mill Pond.

Oak Leaf Trail

This trail is a multi-use trail system with over 135 miles for cycling, roller blading, walking, birding and more, running from the north to the southern boundary of Milwaukee County. The trails southern portion starts in South Milwaukee in Grant Park, just across from the golf course club house.  Check out the trail maps

Performing Arts Center

South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center is a professional, school-affiliated performing arts center that is based on a legacy of outstanding theatre and music education. SMPAC hosts, presents and produces hundreds of events each year, including all of the school district's music and theatrical events, educational workshops, an annual Performing Arts Series, community outreach events and a summer youth theatre program.  Located at 901 15th Ave.

Yacht Club

Adjacent to Grant Park Beach, the Yacht Club is committed to family, friends and fellowship.  It accommodates 92 boats,  has a clubhouse and bar, an outdoor pavilion and offers youth sailing programs and a sports fishing club.  And, you don't need a boat to become a club member!
